Dear British Business Club members,
In these hectic December days, it is always good to stop for a while to remember the whole year - its ups and downs, happy and sad moments, what was planned and how it happened.
However, before doing this we should all take time to remember that on the 10th July our dear friend Luke Conner passed away after a serious accident, he will remain in our thoughts forever. Some of us will have also lost loved ones, friends and friends of friends due to covid and our thoughts and prayers go to their families.
So, what did the BBC deliver in 2021. We had four Spice Nights, three Shareholders’ and Directors lunches, three pub events, three sports events, partners and members events, and a networking event for Luke Conner’s birthday, all together we gathered more than 900 guests during the year. We also made 12 online webinars some of which included partners. We continued our tradition of supporting the Taganka Children’s Fund through the annual bowling tournament where BBC members contributed more than 100 thousand rubles and thanks to the charity lottery, we donated another 120 thousand rubles to the Fund at the Christmas BBC Directors and Shareholders lunch. A remarkable year and what joy it was to start seeing people again during the year. Thank you to all who supported the BBC during 2021!
Less than two months ago I wrote to you for the very first time as your new British Business Club President and suggested forming the BBC Committee and pool of volunteers to better serve you in the upcoming year. I was happy to receive immediate feedback from the volunteers and we now have a fully established and functioning Committee working on your behalf. We’ve rejuvenated our social media channels - whichever platform is your preference, you can follow us on Facebook, Instagram, Telegram, Twitter, LinkedIn as well as take part in conversations in the British Business Club in Russia Facebook group.
Supporting and bringing individuals and businesses together while at the same time having fun will remain in our DNA in 2022. To make sure we listen to you carefully and meet your expectations we are inviting you to take part in our online survey in January. Please take a few moments to complete this, it is your club and your ideas really matter. Your beloved BBC Directors’ and Shareholders’ lunches, Spice nights and pub events are already being planned and in addition we have plans for recreation and family events along with a summer boat cruise, snooker night, golf weekend and we are tailoring some brand-new projects for you.
I would like to finish by wishing each of you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from myself, Irina and Evangelina. Many families across the world are still apart due to the Covid-19 pandemic but do all try to reach out to your loved ones however you can. I do hope that 2022 brings us all closer together and that each of us enjoys a happy, healthy and successful year.
Christmas has always brought hope into our lives, let’s open our hearts together in front of this silent and holy night.
