The BBC Summer Events Programme
With the summer now upon us, following the excitement of the Royal Wedding, and the ever-increasing anticipation prior to the World Cup, the BBC has organised a wide-range of events, covering the full spectrum of our capabilities.
Next up are the Brookes Open Days, starting today with a follow-up on Saturday 26th, when I will be attending myself. It should be a great opportunity to view a new Great British icon for the first time.
On Tuesday 29 May (a week today), Emma-Marie Kabanova (violinist) and her talented side-kick Jonathan Duarte (on piano) will be hosting a concert "A Classical Fantasy" within the beautiful confines of our Anglican Church in Moscow. This is a great event for all of the family, but especially for adults. Whisky, wine, soft drinks, and pizza will be served all for RUB 1500. Last time we held such a concert, everybody went away in great spirits - the mixture of music, venue, and handful of drinks, is a perfect combination to send tingles down the spine. After that, we have a business event with our partner, Visagio - a supply chain roundtable focussing on digitalisation on Thursday, 31 May. More details are available on our website.
On 2 June, we will host a Summer BBQ and Lobsterfest with CERBA. This will be a fun day out for all of the family. Sveta is the boss for this one, and will be happy to share information.
On 6 June The American Chamber of Commerce in Russia in conjunction with the British Business Club will hold a special social event dedicated to celebration of Alexander Pushkin’s birthday. The event will be held at Pushkin House Museum on Old Arbat Street (Arbat street 53, Moscow, Smolenskaya metro station). The event will feature a meeting with Julian Henry Lowenfeld, an American poet, playwright, composer, best known for his translations of Alexander Pushkin's poetry into English. He will present his book “My Talisman: The Poetry & Life of Alexander Pushkin.”
On 7 June, we will continue our popular Shareholders and Directors luncheon series with a special guest speaker, to be confirmed later this week.....
Then for the World Cup, we have a cracking member deal with MOJO for all England matches, starting with the warm-up game against Costa Rica on 7 June (evening). These events will be free to attend, with very reasonably priced drinks and food available, and a smattering of freebies when England score, so they are bound to get booked up early. Non-England fans will of course be welcomed, as they were at the England v Italy game. In fact, they seemed to enjoy it the most!
Finally, we have The BBC Midsummer Cup - a golf tournament to be held at Zavidovo on 23 and 24 June, which includes an overnight stay in the Radisson residences, plus tons of entertainment - both for golfers and non-golfers. Don't miss the chance to get access to one of Russia's most exclusive and well equipped resorts.
