Dear BBC Members,
The British Business Club: its Recent Revival and the near future
I wanted to write to all of you (as members, sponsors and friends) to thank you for the overwhelming support, which you have given to me and the Committee, since we revived the BBC earlier this year.
I am sure that you will all agree that the Revival Party @Chicago Prime was a resounding success. At the end of May we combined our efforts with Globus Music and members of the Kremlin Ballet to provide a fantastic evening of ballet, chamber music and champagne. We followed that up with a successful Shareholders and Directors Lunch in a private dining room at the Lotte Hotel, which was superbly catered for, and very well attended. Subsequently, the BBC hosted a private tour of the Bolshoi Theatre and a well-received business lecture at the National Hotel, both of whom also did us proud. We finished off our line-up with an interesting visit to the Polish Embassy in support of our friends at the Polish Club.
The summer months haven't exactly delivered what we expected in terms of weather, so we decided to move our five-a-side football tournament to an indoor venue during the long winter months. We are, however, delighted following the recently improved prognosis to announce our signature event for the summer. On Tuesday 15 August, the BBC will host its Summer Party on the roof terrace of the 5 star St. Regis Nikolskaya Hotel. For those of you who haven't been there, the venue should be ideal for the somewhat variable climatic conditions we have experienced in Moscow of late. The outdoor terrace overlooks the infamous Lubyanka, whilst the indoor section of the top floor, has more than enough space to host our members and their guests. There we will be serenaded by a jazz band and served with canapes, wine and prosecco. VIP members of the St. Regis Club will also be invited to join in the festivities. At the moment, I am also working hard with our committee to finalise our autumn programme. On this note, please allow me to remind you that registration will open shortly for the BBC Golf Invitational to be held at Agalarov Estate on Friday 15 September.
